March was a big month for Romeo Galante films. New Children/New York added another major honor to its list of credits when it received an Honorable Mention at the 2012 Todas las Voces Contra el Silencio Encuentro Hispanoamericano de Cine y Video Documental Independiente in Mexico City. El Regreso de Lencho was an Official Selection in the Festival Internacional de Cine de Punta del Este in Uruguay.

The New Children/New York website now has curriculum supporting teaching with the documentary at the high school level in the humanities classroom, and at the college level in both humanities and social sciences courses. And we are pleased to announce that The Beaches received another grant for 2012-13, from the PSC-CUNY Research Award program.

Lauren Mucciolo continues production with True Vision on the PBS/BBS documentary about children living in poverty due to America’s current dismal economic climate, having relocated to the Quad Cities in the midwest until August.
